My Message From God - Christian Spirituality

This is a special article to me and I would like to share it with you. It seems like, every one that I have ever met, who refers to themselves as Christians, have received a special message from God.

I would like to share my message from God with every person in the world.

Why would God go out of his way to create evil people? To create people that wouldn't convert to his religion. To understand the true meaning of the one true religion. To have the ability to comprehend the truth and wisdom of Christianity.

I have been listening to Christians for years, talk about evil, the influence of the Bible on Christians, gifts from God, questioning their beliefs, lacking understanding for things that God doesn't give them or things that he takes away from them and excluding sinners from their lives.

I've been listening to Christians talk about love and caring, but excluding sinners, homosexuals and women from their church. Not allowing women to hold decision of authority or allowing them to perform certain tasks, inside of the Church.

I've been listening to Christians, quote from the Bible, with limited knowledge of the origins of that individual Bible verse, let alone the origins of their church or how Christianity was formed.

I've listened to them judge me for my beliefs and condemn others for theirs, while they are telling me about decision's they are making within their own lives, that don't support Christianity.

Just because you go to church, read the Bible or simply believe that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior, doesn't make you an educated Christian. It only makes you a Christian.

My message from God is simple. Learn more about Christianity and this will allow you to do one of two things. Either you will become a stronger Christian or you will relinquish your beliefs in Christianity.

Either way you will have learned more about Christianity and could consider yourself an educated Christian or simply an educated person.

Rocking the Foundation of Christianity

Whatever you build a house, you start with the foundation, if you're writing a book, it might be an outline for the table of contacts, but when were talking about Christianity, rarely do any Christians ever research the origins or how Christianity began.

Most Christians assume that Jesus was the one who started Christianity, however, he was Jewish and there is a good chance that he never even thought about starting a new religion. I know, Jesus is God and he knows everything and he knew that he was going to start Christianity. Okay, but what if.

That might not be entirely true. We don't have any proof that Jesus was actually a superior god like being. We can speculate or assume all that we want to, however there is very little evidence to support, that Jesus did anything that the writers of the New Testament, suggested he had done.

I would like to challenge most Christians, to do a little research and quite possibly start rocking the foundation of Christianity. It's much more important to understand Christianity than to call yourself a Christian. Will a little bit of research help or hurt you, as you study Christianity.

You can start by looking at the origins of the Bible, the Council of Nicaea, the Emperor Constantine, the missing years of Jesus in the early Roman Catholic Church.

To understand anything, you must understand its origins. Take some time out of your busy life, to start studying the foundation of Christianity.

When Do We Get to Meet God's Parents?

If God is the creator of the universe, who is the creator of God? When I was born, I had a mother and a father and supposedly the two of them together had created me. One could not have created me without the other and therefore I am a product of my parents. I know who my parents are and I even know who their parents are but who is God's parents and were we made in the images of our parents or creators.

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth but before that, we know very little about God. Did he have brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, grandparents and even God parents. If he did have brothers and sisters, did they create worlds like he did or she did, we don't know whether God is a man or a woman, transvestite, homosexual or a combination of all of these. We really don't know what God is, even though Michelangelo painted him on the Sistine Chapel.

In the book of revelations it mentions, Revelation 22:13 "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End." God says that he is the first and the last, does this mean that there was no one or no entity before him. It goes back to the chicken and the egg, what was first the chicken or the egg, no one knows. Well god knows doesn't he. I don't know why I keep referring to God as a he but bear with me on this one.

I wonder if God was disciplined as a child or even if he was a child. Maybe God was born a full grown person or even a mysterious entity in the form of a smoky cloud. That couldn't be, because God made us in his image and I'm sure that his mother and father look like us. Well, hopefully they look better than us, maybe someone like Brad Pitt or Jennifer Aniston. I hope that he wasn't an ugly person or entity. That would be discouraging.

I guess that's enough of the humor, I rarely hear anyone talk about, who created God. If God formed out of nothingness, why couldn't our earth have formed from nothingness, without God. If God did have parents, brothers and sisters, have they created other universes and what is the purpose of their creations. Are we just one big experiment, part of a big science project?

If you're really seeking the kingdom of heaven, the glory of God and the true vision that Jesus had, check out some great Christian articles. These articles are designed to teach and educate Christians.

Check This Out - 1 Corinthians 14:34

If you're a woman, you might not want to read this article. If you're a man who supports male chauvinistic ways, I guarantee that this is going to be an article that you won't want to miss.

I have watched women who believe in other religions, all over the world, consider men to be superior to them. I have watched men treat women as subservient and sometimes has subhuman beings, even though these women are someone's wives, sisters or daughters.

But the Holy Bible, come on I can't believe that this is the word of God. Read this and if you have to read it again, but is this really in the Bible, did God actually write this or is this something that was written by man, to make women live lives of servitude.

Here it is, read it for yourself, 1 Corinthians (TWB) 14:34 let your wives keep silent in the assemblies, for it has not been permitted for them to speak; but let them be in subjection, as the law also says. Is this what Christianity is all about or is this just part of what Christianity represents.

Are women really supposed to be quiet in the assemblies of God, in church or places of worship? Am I reading this right? Your wife's keep silent in assemblies, it doesn't say anything about men remaining silent in assemblies.

Oh yeah, for it has not been permitted for them to speak, what the heck are they talking about. Are you telling me that Christian women are not allowed to speak inside of their place of worship? Is that where these assemblies meet or are they talking about something else.

I would like to make a suggestion, too any Christians that are reading this article, this would be a great topic for discussion, at your next prayer meeting or Bible study group.

With religious text like this, you can understand why some women don't have equal rights to men. Its beliefs like these, that will eventually end up forcing large religious organizations to change or become part of our history.

Rethinking Today's Religions - Misleading Our Children

When I was a young man, my parents told me about Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. Every Christmas, there would be presents underneath the tree from Santa Claus and on Easter I would get a basket full of candy and eggs. However, when I was 11 years old, my parents broke the devastating news to me, there was no Santa Claus or Easter Bunny.

As you can imagine, I cried for hours over the frustration and disappointment. For one, I thought that I wasn't going to get any more Christmas gifts, but my parents provided me with the needed psychological relief and told me that they were going to provide Christmas gifts for me, until I died. Even though I was upset, I was relieved and confused.

If my parents lied about this, could they have possibly lied about something else, anything else. Have you ever thought about this and is there a situation in your life today that could be an old habit that never got corrected. Some theme that your parents told you when you were a child that was a lie and they never told you the truth. Maybe they never told you the truth because they don't even know themselves that it's a lie.

Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny were obviously disappointments to me and most people that I've talked to about their experiences, with their parents and even their children. Why do we do this as parents to our children, even though we didn't like it when it was done to us. Hard to explain why we can't break certain habits and certain traditions.

I love Christmas and the joy of giving. Even though I am no longer a Christian, I enjoy going over to my relatives homes and spending Christmas or Christmas Eve with them. Now for the bad news, if you were raised to believe in Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism or any other large religious organization. Let me ask you this, do you think that it could be like Santa Claus, do you think the religion you believe in so strongly could be a story that has gotten out of control over the centuries.

I've spent a life time rethinking today's religions and can't find very many facts to prove any one religion is superior over another. Do your own research and find your own answers. Enlightenment could be as simple as gathering the right information.

Could Christian Pride Get You in Trouble?

There's a good chance that most of us know at least one person who seems to be very prideful. These people are often hard to deal with and can easily get their feelings hurt. When someone who has a lot of pride, gets trapped in a corner, they often come out swinging in full attack mode.

When a Christian has a lot of pride, and is faced with a problem about their religion, the opposition had better be prepared, especially if this person is large and intimidating. I'm not referring to every Christian here, I'm not even referring to every Christian with a lot of pride either, I'm referring to Christians who mix their prideful beliefs with factual evidence.

These people can often become stubborn and the more that you push or pull, the deeper they dig their heels in, until they can't even be moved in either direction. It's almost like they're feet are buried in a large concrete slab of cement.

Yes pride can get you into trouble, they key is, knowing how to get yourself out of trouble. When someone approaches you with a question about your beliefs that you don't have the answer to, simply respond with," I will have to do some research and get back with you."

Don't let your pride get in the way and create an enemy out of someone that could provide you with some useful information about other beliefs or even your own religion. Think about it, your pride can often dig holes that you might not be able to get out of.

Does Anyone Have a Direct Line to God?

I have heard Catholics tell me that the pope has a direct line to God. I don't really know if that's true, but if he does, or anyone else does, I would like to ask them to do me a favor.

I would like them to ask God a few questions, these questions aren't going to be difficult, and we could even make them in yes or no formats, but these answers need to be asked and only God can provide us with the answers.

The first question that I would like to ask God, would be about starvation, why are there so many starving people all over the world? Are we or are we not supposed to be fruitful and multiply? Is overpopulation creating more problems in the world today, than it might have 2000 years ago?

These questions above, could be a little difficult to answer, but they shouldn't be too difficult for someone like God. I believe that God can handle a few tough questions and if the Pope or anyone else has direct communication with God, I would like to suggest something to them, quit wasting your time on frivolous things and start asking God the serious questions, that every one is really interested in.

It doesn't make a lot of sense, to pray and worship to somebody who realistically won't answer or deliver the things that we are requiring. I realize that most religious people are told, that God only answers some prayers or that God isn't ready to answer your prayers yet.

Anyway, if gods not going to answer all of our prayers, couldn't he at least answer some of our questions.

Thanks For Reading Our Articles

Where Did God Come From?

If you believe in certain religions, like Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism and even Buddhism, there's a good chance that you believe in some sort of God like being or cosmic force, especially the one that created our world that we live in today.

Where did God come from? What are we doing here? And where are we going, after we die. Some of these questions, are hard to answer and scientifically difficult to prove. There is very little evidence to prove, where God actually came from, what are we suppose to be doing here and where we are going to go, after we die.

If nobody knows where God came from, why are there so many religions, that believe in a God? Think about it for a moment, the Christian God, was the creator of the universe, and the creator of everything. Where's the proof? Why do people continue to study the Bible, and believe in a God, that they can't really even put their hands on?

If God is truly real, why wouldn't we have ever seen him? It doesn't make a lot of sense, to believe in imaginary beings, or invisible entities and pray to a God that we might not ever see or touch. It might not make a lot of sense, but if you ask serious religious followers, of these religions a question like, can you prove that there actually is a God, there's a good chance that these religious believers will reply, with a simple yes.

They have no proof, no evidence, and almost base their entire beliefs on faith, instead of facts. Rarely do they seek any evidence or even read their religious text, with a goal to understand what they're reading. Most of these people take everything that they learn, lock it away in their head, and never ask any serious questions about their religious beliefs, like these.

If there is a God, why wouldn't he show himself? If there is a God, why wouldn't he prove that he does exist, so that others wouldn't have to doubt his existence? Something to think about, on the days that you're not going to your place of worship.

Jesus' Missing Years in the Bible

It looks like there is a big problem in the Gospels. There are more years in Jesus' life that are missing than years of his life that were ever recorded. Why weren't these years listed in the Bible?

All the Gospels talked about the death of Jesus, the birth of Jesus and a few years in between, but all of the Gospels are missing some very important years from his life. When raising a child, some of the most important years of their lives, will be those when they were teenagers and often those of their young adulthood.

The Gospels talk about Jesus at the temple at around the age of 12 or 13. After that, there is very little known until he reaches the final years of his life. Was there someone or a group of people or even a community who influenced his life? Could Jesus have learned something from a spiritual master Guru that changed the world forever?

There is more speculation on Jesus' missing years than you could ever imagine. Some say that Jesus went to Egypt to study with their masters or priests. Egypt obviously wasn't that far from where Jesus was raised, but like most of the stuff in the Bible, there is very little evidence to support any of these speculative stories.

Could Jesus have went to India and studied with the Buddhist masters or even a Hindu scholars? Did Jesus study with advanced Jewish scholars? This is only a little bit of the historical speculation, but if the truth was ever to be known, it could help Christianity solve a lot of problems.

Most Christians rarely even question these missing years. There are quite a few Christians that don't even know that there are any missing years in Jesus' life. I wrote this article to get people thinking and hopefully to start educating themselves about early Christianity. Good luck and God bless.

Religious Mind Control Or Generational Sin

If you were raised with certain beliefs and belong to a certain religion, there is a very good chance that your parents followed your religion and share the same beliefs. If you are a Muslim, there's a very good chance that your parents were Muslims. If you live in the United States, there is a really, really good chance that you're a Christian, especially if you live in Texas or Utah.

Is this religious mind control and generational sin or is this truly the way life is meant to live. Your parents and ancestors formed strong beliefs and pass them on to their children. What's wrong with that? Is it a generational sin to pass on what you truly believe? With that question asked, is a generational sin our mind control to teach our children how to fit into society, is it our obligation as stewards.

We often send our children to school, give them a good religious upbringing and then assimilate them into the workplace, almost like robots on an assembly line. We seem to never even question where these beliefs originated, we have no idea where they are going to take us and above all, we have no idea that they are truly beneficial to society, let alone ourselves.

Teaching our children what we have been taught, isn't always going to be right. If you look back in history, at all the beliefs, rituals and facts that have been disproven and are no longer followed by modern man, you can get a pretty good idea what I'm talking about. These people often taught their children, what they were taught. In centuries to come, these truths died out and were replaced by new ones.

Religious mind control can be cured by opening your mind and reading articles like this. You might be talking to someone who you have been taught to fear or even hate your whole life, only to find out that they think like you. They care about their families, feel sorry for others who are less fortunate and usually eat and sleep just like you do. If your mind is open enough, you could realize that you have been lied to and now it's time to start thinking seriously about what you were taught and what you're going to believe in the future.

Religious mind control can be cured through reading books, watching television, visiting other countries and educating yourself about other cultures and religions. The change you make today could affect future generations in your family.

Could You Be a Married Adulterer? - For Christians Only

Adultery has been going on for centuries and obviously was a problem 2500 years ago or it wouldn't have been mentioned in the Bible so many times. Could you actually be married to someone and be considered an adulterer? It's time for you to learn all the rules in the New Testament about adultery.

Here's a Bible verse that could get a lot of Christians in trouble. Mark 10:11-12 (New King James Version)" 11 So He said to them, "Whoever divorces his wife and marries commits adultery against her. 12 And if a woman divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery."

It looks a little more complicated than most of us could have ever thought. Whoever divorces his wife and marries another, has committed adultery. That means that there are millions of Christians all over the world who have committed adultery.

I've got some more bad news for Christians who might have looked at a woman lustfully. Matthew 5:28 (New International Version Bible) "But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." This isn't looking good, for men or women is it?

If you've never been married, but while you were at church, notice an attractive woman or man and had lustful thoughts, about them, you're an adulterer. I know, it sounds a little harsh, but I'm not making anything up here, it's right out of the Bible.

I know things aren't looking good but I would like to leave you with a comforting thought. If you were divorced from your spouse because of an adulterous relationship, things might be starting to look a little different with this next Bible verse.

Matthew 19:9 (New International Version Bible) I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery."

These are typical contradictions and they are located throughout the Bible. Mark 10:11-12 states that all divorced people who have remarried, commit adultery. Matthew 19:9 states something completely different, if your divorced and your ex spouse has been unfaithful during your marriage and you remarry, everything is okay.

Are you even more confused than when I started? There's a good chance that you are. I'm even confused and I wrote the article. The real question is, can we remarry or can't we.

This would be a good topic during Bible study. You can start by asking, how many people are adulterers?

Remodeling Your Home Tips

You know....been there done that. That's me. I've been fortunate to have been able to live in every house I've remodeled, call me crazy. I've seen first hand the mistakes and regrets you'll have so here are seven must do's!

Hire an architect: Perhaps the best money you'll spend out of your whole budget. Computer-aided software will create every detail on your plans which turns into huge labor savings on the job site, and less headache. It will also allow you to simplify the construction plan as a whole to shorten construction time.

Hire a contractor: Unless you've done this before, or you're in the trade, never attempt this on your own. Books and advice from friends will not prepare you emotionally for the challenge. Working with a plethora of subcontractors, bankers, appraisers, inspectors, and labors will most certainly overwhelm most people. Of course, always do your homework on your contractor, most importantly a license, insurance, and bond. But just as important are references, or referrals. Always ask for pictures, and/or tours of their previous projects.

Have and open mind: Be willing to accept changes in the plans due to unforeseen circumstances. An architect can have a perfect set of plans, but once their put into action on the job site, things always change (usually once the plumbers and HVAC come in).

Don't shortcut yourself: Get the house you want now! Moving a wall here or there, adding a deck here, or moving the sink over there, might seem like major changes, but they're not. And contractors might complain, but it's your money, and it's better to do it now while your subs are already on the job site. Don't short yourself on materials either. Pay now or pay later.

Take pictures: And not just once a week. Have a plan to go every day in the evening when the workers are gone, and take lots of pictures from every angle. This is especially important when mechanicals are in. This comes in very handily when you need to hang that picture on the wall where the electrical service enters the house. Pictures will also come in very handy at inspection time. Having these at the ready for your inspections will most certainly ease tensions.

Hold your Contractor Accountable: They don't get their final draw until your 100 percent satisfied, and all problems have been dealt with. A good contractor won't beg you for money if they're reputable. A busy contractor is a good contractor, and probably won't need your money right away anyway.

Detail your experience: Remodeling is emotionally challenging, but very rewarding, especially if you DIY. Keep a diary of this experience, and add your pictures along the way. Job sites are always good places to get quotables (not always suitable for children). Make a scrapbook page and display it for all to see and remember. Enjoy!

Wood rot, also called wood decay, is caused by microscopic organisms that belong to the fungi group. These organisms are what cause the wood to actually decay.

Wood is comprised of 3 major components: cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin. Wood rots because the fungi "eat" these 3 major components of wood cells by releasing enzymes that digest wood cells.

Wood that has a moisture content of 20% or above is very susceptible to rotting. The attacking fungi require 4 conditions for colonization:

1) Adequate oxygen supply

2) Temperature range between 40-100 degrees Fahrenheit

3) Constant moisture source

4) Adequate supply of food (wood)

Untreated moisture damage can cause a decrease in your property value by 10% to 15% according to the National Association of Waterproofing and Structural Repair Contractors (NAWSRC).

Catching moisture problems like wood rot in the early stages will save you both money and headaches. There are several warning signs to alert you that moisture may be damaging your home: excessive condensation on windows, blistering or peeling paint, discolored wood surfaces, splits across the wood grain, mold spots, musty odors and standing water in your crawl space.

If you notice any of these warning signs, you need to determine where the moisture is coming from. Check for plumbing leaks, roof leaks, debris filled gutter and downspouts, foundation cracks and poorly graded soil that drains towards your home. In your crawlspace, look for mold stains on the foundation walls and/or puddled water.

Moist, humid air from your crawlspace increases the moisture content of the wood in your home, making it vulnerable to wood rot. By installing a vapor barrier and a high grade crawl space dehumidifier, you can protect the value of your home.

Where Does Your Help Come From?

When things don't go as they should, what do you do? Most of us surround ourselves with people who we know might sort us out in case of trouble. We pile up lots of wealth so as we can feel secure. We think that this will give us a secure life free from worry and heart ache. How wrong we are. One day, all this might collapse, what do you do. Like Job, you might find yourself in a situation where everything you ever had just disappears.

If you are a believer of the true and living God, you should know that the afflictions of the Christian are many but God delivers him from them all. The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord. Though he might fall, the Lord upholds him with his hand. Ps37:24. Therefore, no matter how bad things may seem, God will make the sun shine on you in the morning.

All he is asking is you put your trust in him. Your help should totally come from him. Friends, family and people you know may disappoint you but he can never leave nor forsake you. He is your creator, he loves you more than anything, how dare you think that he is going to let you die in that problem. He just wants you to stop looking around at the things and people around and look up. He is seated in his majesty waiting for you to ask for his help. Nothing is impossible with God.

Pride Can Often Create Problems Religion

Have you ever talked to someone about their religious beliefs, only to find out that they are very stubborn, they only want to talk about their beliefs and do not want to listen to your opinion at all. I have met plenty of people that fall into this category and rarely do I run into someone with an open mind about their religious beliefs. These people often try to make you feel stupid and don't realize, that they are the ones who are actually ignorant.

Pride can often create problems in religion and only later when you see the truth can you really understand how stubborn you were. The problem with these people, is that once they find the truth, it's another lie and they seem to push these beliefs on to others. Often these people can be very aggressive and it almost seems like they need to make up for lost time, since they were wrong about their last religion.

Psalm 10:4 In his pride the wicked does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God.

It seems like pride has often got man into trouble and rarely gotten him out of it. Pride can often start wars but only after defeat or education can they be ended. While some people go around town shoving religion down your throat in the name of God, others are ignoring the information completely. The problems in religion resulting from someone's pride have created too many problems throughout history and need to be stopped. Turn your prideful thinking into a compassionate mind.

The next time you meet someone on the street or in a store and they look different or have different beliefs, humble yourself and be kind to them. Show a little compassion instead of pride. Maybe, just maybe you could even make friends with these people and learn something about their beliefs. Often you will find that their religious beliefs are not that much different than yours and this could get you thinking and rethinking about your religion.

Article Writing Secrets - The 4 Things You Just Gotta Have in Each and Every Internet Article

Article writers get so hung up on trying to make their article perfect. Perfectionism leads to procrastination and you wind up getting nothing done.

I'd rather have my "new-perfect" article out there working for me twenty four hours a day seven days a week than someone else's not-quite-ready-just-a-few-more-tweaks-until-it-is-perfect article sitting in the computer doing you no good at all.

So here are my four criteria for what I call 'near perfect' articles:

1. It's got to be good enough to represent you well on the internet. That's why I encourage you to look at some of the articles on the article directories and read a lot of stuff in your niche. Read a lot of stuff in the Article Directories and see that you can do a whole lot better than some of those folks over there. All you have to do is craft an article that represents you well on the internet.

2. It's got to provide good quality information. One of the biggest mistakes some people make is writing without helping. They write about something, but there's nothing to take away, there's nothing to use. Give the reader at least one golden nugget they can go and use.

3. It helps people begin to know, like, and trust you, because they're reading about your thoughts and your expertise, and they begin to feel like they're getting to know you. That's the kind of people that customers want to do business with.

4. You leave them wanting more. You've whetted their appetite. You've given them some good stuff, and then you let them know in the resource box, "Hey, there's a whole lot more where this came from."

The Magic of Thinking Big by David Schwartz - Book Review

As I sat in the chair in at a self-help seminar titled, "What Would You do if You Knew You Could Not Fail," I listened to the speaker, Chris Cobb, refer to the book that influenced him most, "The Magic of Thinking Big." Chris was a top real estate broker out of Chicago who had apparently used these tools in his rise to the top of his agency.

When I returned home, I set out on a quest to find the book. Interestingly enough, I was walking down the street when I had the urge to go into a thrift store. As I wondered around looking casually, I noticed books on the back wall and headed in that direction. As I approached, the words practically jumped off the book, "The Magic of Thinking Big." There it was waiting for me to grab it.

Once I started reading, I could not put it down. It was like the author, the late David J. Schwartz, World Renowned Authority on Motivation, had written it just for me. His inspirational stories and motivational suggestions are enough to get the most extreme of couch-potatoes to take action.

Some of the topics discussed are:

- Learning the secret that lies in your attitude
- Making your mind produce positive results
- Getting a clear vision on where you want to go in life
- Accomplishing your goals with an outlined plan

If you are interested in learning how to achieve positive results in your life, then you will definitely want to read this book. Please let me know how what you think of it - I would be interested in hearing.

A Review of "Transformational Life Coaching" - A Book For Mentors and Mentees Everywhere

There are many different indicators in today's world demonstrating that humanity has reached a new level of awareness and appreciation for its own existence. If we look at the shifts in the types of occupations being pursued (and sought after), the abundance of life coaches and personal development mentors is like a mirror held up to our collective psyche. It seems to say that life is a precious experience, and we simply want to be sure that we're present for it in every way possible. To coin a somewhat overused phrase: We seek to live authentically.

In 1977, long before having a "life coach" was something commonly discussed at Starbucks, Dr. Cherie Carter-Scott published her first book on the subject and began a career that eventually, would find her labeled, "The Mother of Coaching." New Species (published in 1978) was to become the first of many books Dr. Scott would write on personal development. The long list includes, "Negaholics," a series of 'Rules' books - including "If Life is a Game, These are the Rules," and her most recent work, "Transformational Life Coaching."

Transformation Life Coaching throws open the doors to Life Coaching School and invites us all inside. Although written for those who either are, or espouse to become, mentors in the transformational movement, this book is an accessible "how to" for anyone. It welcomes all those who have spent time seeking to develop a better appreciation with their own life and how they intend to live it. Chapter 1 literally outlines what to look for and how to choose a coach, offering twenty-five important questions to discuss during the interview process.

In this book, Dr. Scott has created a virtual concordance of information, challenges for personal thought patterns and judgment, practical exercise and reference tools to use over and over. Embracing many global teachings, Dr. Scott often refers to the different chakras, or energy centers, as tools to release the ego and be of maximum service to others. As she explains, "You are in the process of opening up and taking control of your power," and by deeply understanding each energy center, we will be able to literally, "open and close each chakra at will."

Imagine being able to consciously open the fifth chakra (which controls speech and communication) in order to more fully participate in our marriage or work relationships - or being able to close down our first chakra, which embodies survival and security, so that we might be more risky and daring in our professional roles or fearlessly take on new adventures in life.

Dr. Scott has spent most of her professional life traveling the world and sharing her expertise on personal empowerment and development at every turn. On her website she shares that, "Writing a book is not done with the wave of a wand. It takes time to reflect and soul search for the universal truths related to each developmental phase." These same words could definitely be applied to the very journeys that Dr. Scott encourages us to make with our lives.

What we know about coaching is that it is not only sought after, but it is necessary in today's fast-paced world of endless challenges. From corporate teams to softball teams, being coached and coaching others on how to live as appreciatively and authenticity as possible is a proactive way to turn roadblocks into paving stones on your road of success.

Goal Setting - Why is Goal Setting So Important For Internet Marketing Success?

If you are going to make money in any endeavor, you will need to learn something about goal setting. This is the single most important thing you will ever think about during the course of your money making efforts and your internet marketing career.

I will focus the remainder of this article on Internet Marketing since that is what I know best. You need to know, first how much money you intend to earn, and second, what exactly you need to do to earn it.

In addition, it helps if you know why. I needed to pay the bills, my kids needed new bicycles, and I seriously needed a vacation. I knew what I was working for, do you know what you are working for?

When I started my affiliate business, my short-term goal was to earn $200 a month on a consistent basis, because I knew that if I could achieve that level of success, it would go a long way toward helping me pay off my bills.

Medium-term I was looking for about $3000 per month, because then I would be able to decide if I wanted to keep working at my full-time day job or not.

Long-term, I was, and still am looking for $15,000 per month. I have a plan for its achievement and a time limit for reaching it. And I will get there.

So what about you, what are your goals and what are your income streams? Do you know how much you intend to earn from each of your businesses.

Do you have a written plan for their achievement?

Article Writing Secrets - 3 Tips to Keep Your Readers Glued to Your Article!

Most web viewers only skim through the several thousands of articles that can be found on the web highway. How then do we create articles that can keep readers glued to your article? The following article writing tips will help you understand the technique.

1. Provide valuable content

A large number of article writing tips available on the Internet will emphasize the importance of providing valuable content in your articles. You can accomplish this by doing appropriate research through the search engines. Using different search terms related to the topic, you can gain information that other writers have not dealt with on the topic.

2. Use simple language

Every web viewer does not have the same degree of education. For many, English may not be their native language either. Therefore, the best way you can engage every web viewer is by using simple language which every one can easily understand. When readers are compelled to go for the dictionary to understand your article, chances are they would go for another article which is rendered in simple language.

3. Make it easy on the eyes for the reader

This is the most important among these article writing tips. Your articles should be comfortable on the eyes of the reader. Therefore, using fancy fonts and colors should be avoided at all costs. Borders, shading, flashy designs etc. can drive the web viewer away from your well written articles and defeat the purpose. Articles written for the Internet should always have the reader's interests and comforts placed ahead of your technical abilities and colorful presentation skills.

The Right Weather For Home Exterior Painting

If you have decided to paint the exterior of your home, then you have probably taken into consideration all of the basic preparations. Most people know to lay down drop cloths and to turn off certain appliances before painting. Still, there is one condition that many people skip over in their preparation: the weather. The weather on painting day can be the deciding factor in a successful paint job.

Rain should obviously be avoided during exterior home painting. Not only will rain immediately wash away your fresh paint job, but it is not safe to be outdoors (especially on a ladder) in weather conditions that could involve lightening. Outside temperature is another factor worth considering. In order for the paint to dry in the appropriate time span and for the texture to be even, painting should never be performed when it is less than 50F.

It is generally good practice to do your home exterior painting in the shade. This means you will have to paint strategically to avoid the sun. The sun can cause the paint to dry too rapidly, which leads to blisters, lap marks, and uneven texture. Ultimately, you'll end up having to paint the same area over again. You should avoid painting during windy weather conditions for the same reasons.

Before you begin home exterior painting, it is an absolute necessity to consider the weather while planning. The good news is that optimal painting weather happens to be pretty decent weather for just about any outdoor activity, which can turn this "job" into a good time.

Book Writing - Page Count and Chapter Length

Regardless of genre, there is no hard and fast rule about how many pages or words each chapter should contain or how many chapters should be in a book. However, there are some general guidelines in this article that may help you determine the page count and chapter length needed for your book.

Pages in a Chapter:

Many people read in spurts, at lunch time, or on the subway to work, readers enjoy chapters that can be finished in ten to fifteen minutes.

I try to set my chapter lengths by how long it takes me to read the material. If it goes past fifteen minutes, I may decide to divide a chapter in half and make two chapters out of it. Take into consideration that I write mostly non-fiction.

As you probably know, there's a difference in the way fiction and non-fiction are handled. In a fiction book, writers use shorter chapters. Some are only one page if that is all it takes to catch the reader up on the action of other characters in other scenes. When writing non-fiction, your chapter content needs to be specific to your chapter's heading or title.

Twenty pages per chapter is a good rule of thumb, but the most important thing is to include everything that relates to a particular topic in one chapter. For example, if your book is about fishing, you want to include the bulk of your information about fly casting in one chapter. All your info about bait and lure would be in another chapter.

Chapters/Pages in a Book:

These guidelines should give you a general idea of how to determine the length of your chapters and your book.

If your book is titled "The Accuracy of the US Census" you may have 52 chapters (one on each state). If your book is titled "Ten Tips for Marketing" you may have only ten chapters. There's no rule about how many chapters a book can or must have.

In order to be considered a book rather than a pamphlet or booklet, a book needs to be at least 10,000 words. If your book has more than 475 pages, you might want to consider producing it in two volumes.

Because you will submit your manuscript as an 8.5" x 11" word-processing document, you cannot be certain of its final length until after your publisher formats it for print. I have found that 250-300 words will approximate one page of 12-point font text in a standard size (5.5"x8" or 6"x9") perfect-bound book.

Ezine Article Writing: A Template Saves Time and Aids Structure

Writing articles and submitting them to article directories is a great way to generate publicity and expert reputation but can be a time consuming and frustrating process unless you approach it systematically. Having written hundreds features for printed media for 20 years, I soon found I needed a very different approach for online articles and developed this template to help me produce articles that work.

The first thing I learned is that you are writing for four audiences with different sets of needs.

1. The Publisher Web sites, ezines, blogs and printed media all require different lengths and styles of content so you need to be flexible with lots of choice from short punchy to in depth analysis to personal commentary. Articles need to be topical, from an expert and contain no overt promotion and self serving links. The more articles you write the more of an "expert" you become.

2. The Reader - People search the internet for content so the article needs to provide topical, fresh ideas with plenty of easy to digest, practical advice.

3. The Search Engines You need to do extensive keyword research for your web site then select a specific primary keyword or phrase for each article and use it liberally for maximum search engine ranking

4. The Directory They each have specific requirements regarding format, structure and topic. Each article will be checked to see that it does not beach their content guidelines and formatting rules.

Before you start the article type out the headings below to form the template then use the notes to guide you.

Article Title

Maximum 100 characters (including spaces) - thats about 12 words.

Make it grabby to catch the attention of readers and publishers but start with your primary search engine keyword phrase. In printed media titles starting How to or 10 top tips for" are very popular they are not good for search engines. This will go in the title of a web page.

Abstract

Maximum 500 characters - about 90 words but 50 or 60 is better.

Make it enticing to hook the publisher and make them want to read the full article. The abstract is primarily targeted at the publisher and will be displayed just below the title on the search pages in the directory, but is secondary to the title in getting attention. Some publishers may also use it.

Description Meta Tag

Maximum 200 characters but preferably 150 two lines of text.

Shorter punchier version of the abstract which must contain your primary keywords you will need this if you publish on your own web site.

Keywords Meta Tag

Maximum 100 characters - about 12 words comma separated

Start with your primary keyword of phrase then add other relevant keywords used in the article.

Article Text

Length really depends on your market and style. Much advice suggests about 250 to 750 words, but some publishers want in-depth analysis and I have had a 1700 word article reproduced at least once. Research your market and be flexible, with a mix of lengths and perhaps long and short versions of the same article.

Write the basic article with NO FORMATTING WHATSOEVER if you are using word, disable all the auto-formatting like smart quotes, automatic hypertext links and paragraph spacing because they will all cause you problems. You can always reset them later.

Get your Primary Keyword Phrase into the first sentence if you can and provide a liberal sprinkling of keywords throughout. Don't overdo it. The article still has to be a good read and remember though you are writing for four audiences, Content is King.

Absolutely no advertorial copy - Do not promote your products and services you will kill the article.

Absolutely no self serving links No links to your web site or affiliate sites in the body of the article, if you do you will not be published. If you have links to resources show them as text - many sites do not allow live html links in the article.

Copyright

Copyright, date, name, country

Few directories ask for this but it makes sense to put it at the bottom of the article or in the field requested.

Resource Box

Maximum 500 characters, "including spaces and html code." This is the limit for many sites so best to stick to it for all.

This is your opportunity to promote yourself but limit to 1 or 2 self serving links and write in the "Third Person." The publisher has to live with this on their site or ezine so make it palatable for them. I offer an incentive for people to visit my web site, but make sure that live links show the web address not keywords. If the publisher doesnt use live links, you still want people to see the web address.

HTML Formatted Article

Once you have completed the unformatted text article you can then make an HTML formatted copy if you wish. Most sites do not need HTML, a lot of publishers don't accept it and some directories forbid all html. Remember "Content is King." If you do format keep it simple too much formatting and it will never be published.

Plywood Beam Repair

Tips For Making a Successful Home Repair Franchise Business

Though it may come as something of a surprise, home repair businesses are often some of the most stable when the economy takes a dive, and the biggest reason for that is a relatively simple one. People are most likely to spend money on what means the most to them, and for most homeowners, the house is one of the things that is most important in life, because it's the biggest investment the average person will ever make. Therefore, even in recession, people remain willing to spend the money it takes to keep their homes in good repair. For that reason, home repair businesses rarely see a large downturn, even when the rest of the economy is dropping off, like it is now.

The fact that the home repair industry will hold strong in the face of economic downturn may be enough to keep a home repair business afloat, but alone it isn't enough to keep a business successful. To do that, even in a strong market, takes a good deal of business strength, character, and a small host of helpful practices. For the home repair entrepreneur hoping to keep his small business strong during this downward season, here are a few tips from other home improvement entrepreneurs for pushing your business ahead.

1. Constantly Learn and do New Things

The last thing the owner of any home repair franchise wants to do is pigeonhole himself. Whatever your client needs done, take the steps to learn how to do it and then get it done. Even when clients are only requesting services you're well versed in, keep your nose in home improvement magazines and websites; learn everything you can, when you need it and when you don't, because it's sure to come in handy sometime.

2. Grassroots Marketing is the Way to go

Almost all franchises come equipped with well established marketing plans, which are vital to the success of their franchisees, but absolutely nothing can replace good, old-fashioned grassroots advertising. Building relationships and getting your name out there are the keys. One good idea is to take donuts into the local hardware store on a Saturday morning. Make friends with the staff and ask if you can post an ad somewhere at the counter. Go to neighborhood places like the community center or your church and post your ads there. Send out postcards with company refrigerator magnets or go door to door with door hangers. Visit Home Depot on the weekend and leave your big truck in the lot with your business name and phone number painted on the side where everyone can see it.

3. Seek Guidance in Pricing Bids

If your franchisor doesn't have a set pricing system, talk to friends and associates in the industry about how best to price your bids, because though labor is what gets the job done, it's cash flow that keeps the business going. If you under-price, you won't be able to afford the business, but if you over-price, you'll never get a job. Either is equally fatal, so seek some help.

4. Price Yourself to Account for "Non-Billable" Hours

It's tempting to believe that only the hours actually spent building walls and windows count toward labor when you're billing your clients, but that's only part of the puzzle. In reality, buying materials, doing office work, and drawing up bids (none of which have any direct impact on how many square feet drywall go up that day) can often account for 25% of your day, and your bids must be priced to account for those hours too.

5. Having a Cell Phone is as Important as Having a Hammer

Very simply, your clients must be able to reach you at all times, and talking to an actual human being is vital. If your business can't afford to hire a fulltime secretary to answer a landline during work hours, then spend the far lesser cost of having a cell phone on you, so that you can talk to your clients directly. It also comes in handy when a job or task winds up taking longer than you expected and you're forced to postpone something else for a day or two. You can call up all affected clients and immediately let them know, which is something they are sure to appreciate.

With those tips in mind, the entrepreneur who doesn't yet own his own business may be wondering what business opportunities exist in the home repair industry. Here are a few franchise opportunities for you.

CTi-Concrete Technology

Serve clients with this business for sale by restoring and beautifying the concrete they already have around their homes. The concept is simple, and so is the business model, requiring no more than one or two employees to assist the business owner with the day-to-day work on client's pavement. There is already a well established marketing plan, territories are protected, and profit margins are huge, making this a perfect opportunity for a wise work from home franchisee.

N-Hance

This franchise business has perfected a method of restoring and refinishing hardwood floors and wooden cabinetry in a fraction of the time it generally takes, and with no dust or foul odors. Startup is cheap and quick and there's little overhead, which makes this a low-hassle opportunity for the franchisee, who profits from his labor as well as from the sales of cleaning solutions and tools.

Stone to Foam

Specializing in custom garage floor coatings, this home based business works in association with the Home Depot, whose local stores provide business leads for nearby Stone to Foam franchisees. Five days of training gets franchisees off the right foot, then continuing training keeps them that way, and everything needed for sales and installation is kept in a simple trailer pulled behind the company vehicle, making work a piece of cake.

Build A Home Bar - House Remodeling Ideas

Deciding to build a home bar can be a mixed bag of emotions. At first, you're very excited about your home bar plans because you're going to have this fantastic bar right in your very own home! You'll be throwing awesome parties and entertaining countless friends and family members. Everyone will be talking about how cool your bar is and how they want one in their house too.

However, excitement soon gives way to concern as you realize that you don't have the slightest idea of where to begin to start actually building your bar. You've got no blueprints and no idea what supplies you will need. In addition, you may have little to no construction experience and be afraid that you'll really mess up anything you try to build.

This is the point where most people pick one of three options that almost NEVER yield satisfactory results. They either:

1- Buy a pre-built bar - You've seen these pre-fab bars before. They cost an arm and a leg and they stick out like a sore thumb when you place them in your home. Unless you spend really big money, it's very hard to get one of these that actually looks nice and fits into your home well.

2- Wing It - Ever been to a friend's house and he shows you the "bar" he built, which turns out to be some ugly rectangular structure sticking out of the wall, usually with an old piece of kitchen countertop on it? This happens way too often, and it's the result of people jumping right in and and thinking that they can build a bar without a bit of planning. Every once in a while, this turns out well but, more often than not, it is an absolute failure.

Pure Acai Berry Review

Pure Acai Berry is one of the newer dietary products on the market. However, it isn't just a diet product, it's also a health supplement. The natural Acai berries have been used as a supplement for years in the Amazon, but the fresh berry loses much of its potential hours after being picked, making it difficult to distribute. Another problem is that each Acai berry bush only produces around 90 berries. However, Pure Acai Berry, a pill, makes use of an extract made from Acai berries, allowing it to be distributed around the world and requiring only a few berries to make many pills.

Pure Acai Berry works by speeding up a person's metabolism. It also helps cleanse the body of toxins and unhealthy materials by speeding up the digestion system. By moving food through the body faster, the body has less time to convert foods into fat. This plus the removal of stored toxins results in weight loss.

Pure Acai Berry also has some other effects that make it more of a health supplement than a strict diet plan. These include increasing mental awareness, building up the immune system, and improving digestion and the digestion track.

Pure Acai Berry is completely safe, as clinical tests have shown. These tests have also shown that people who take it can lose between eight and 25 pounds in a month if taken as directed and combined with a healthy eating style. All one has to do is take Pure Acai Berry three times a day as either a pill or a powder mixed into water.

Of course, there are many Acai berry products on the market. In fact, it has become something of the newest diet trend. However, many of these products don't include a sufficient amount of Acai berry extract, and few give all of the benefits that it does. You shouldn't take any of these other supplements with Pure Acai Berry because some of the ingredients may cause side effects.

Pure Acai Berry has been proven as a weight loss supplement. For those looking to lose a good amount of weight each month while enjoying numerous other bonuses, the program is one way to get results. Even better, you can get a free sample of Pure Acai Berry to see how it works before committing any money.

Stress Management and Defending the Ego

Stress management is an absolute requirement when we get into a mode of defending various beliefs and opinions. We can get to a point where we would rather die than be proven wrong. This mindset can place us in a self-imposed box that closes us off from the wonders that Life offers. However, we can give ourselves immediate relief.

The ego is composed of beliefs, attitudes and the resulting energies. The ego believes these positions are necessary for its' survival. The ego believes it is right and everything else is wrong.

This variation from reality produces a tremendous amount of stress. Management of this discomfort becomes necessary if we're going to have a meaningful life. We can make amazing progress by simply letting go of the idea that we have the only right opinion.

Right or wrong depends on context. From the context of a computer programmer, it's right to spend all day in front of a computer. From the context of a sales person, it's right to spend all day saying good things about their product.

Stress management becomes necessary when we lose track of the above. You can experience relief when you recognize the above. Socrates said that we all believe we're doing the right thing.

This right and wrong context extends to all life situations. In the grand scheme of things all of us are divine. In every day living we can simply observe ourselves with love and silently give ourselves approval. Then we can observe other people with love and silently give them approval.

It's easy to read the above paragraph. However, the above is a powerful tool for living. If you focused on the above as your basic principle for living, your life experience would go through the roof.

Why Smart Goals Don't Work - And What to Do About It

Each year, I receive at least half a dozen identical articles touting the benefits of SMART goals: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-bound. SMART goals are increasingly seen as the secret to personal and business success. Unfortunately, it's a pretty safe bet that most of these goals will go the way of the proverbial New Year's resolution. Why? Because none of these articles actually tell you how to make SMART goals work. In fact, most people who try the SMART approach for any but small and relatively easy goals frequently find themselves frustrated and disillusioned.

Well-constructed goals are extremely powerful tools for getting things done, increasing concentration and motivation. Successfully completing a well-constructed goal builds self-confidence. Unfortunately, creating a well-constructed SMART goal is not quite so simple as the average article makes it out to be.

To begin with, a specific goal is only useful if it's something you can control. Although this may seem obvious, the fact is that far too many people set goals that appear to be under their control, but really are not. For example, consider the athlete who sets the goal of winning an upcoming tournament: it's specific, it's measurable, it has a time of completion associated with it. Is it achievable and realistic? Depending on the athlete's level of skill, very possibly. However, the athlete has no control over the difficulty of the competition. He may simply be outplayed by a more skilled opponent.

Furthermore, although the goal is measurable, in that the athlete will know whether or not he accomplishes it, the measurement is not particularly useful. At no time will he know how close he is to accomplishing the goal, where he needs to focus his energies, or what else needs to be accomplished. The athlete is far better served by setting the goal of exercising certain key skills in the competition, skills that have a high probability of leading to a victory. Not only will he gain the self-confidence boost of accomplishing his goal, he may just win the tournament.

Another problem is that a goal is simply too big. If a goal takes years to accomplish, it can be extremely difficult to maintain motivation. Big, ambitious goals are wonderful, but they need to be carefully structured. It is vital to break them down into subgoals that can be accomplished in a much shorter period of time. The perception of progress is critical to maintaining motivation, whether for an individual or a team.

Having too many goals is another common problem. Well constructed goals are great, but if you have too many of them at once, they become a distraction. Many people can focus on three to five unrelated goals without a problem, but not ten or twenty. Keeping in mind that each goal might generate numerous subgoals along the way, it's easy to see how having more than a few key goals can easily balloon out of control.

Is the goal something you really care about? Many people have goals that they don't really care about. Perhaps they've been told it's something they ought to do or they believe they should do, but they don't really care about the outcome. If you don't care whether or not you accomplish a goal, it's hard to find the motivation to do it.

Used properly, SMART goals can be a very powerful and effective tool. Well-constructed goals can increase motivation, improve focus, and build self-confidence. Used improperly, they can decrease motivation, and destroy self-confidence. If you're using SMART goals, here are some questions to ask yourself:

Do I control the outcome?

Can I measure progress in a meaningful way?

Is my goal too big? Can I break it up?

Do I have too many goals? Is there enough time in the day/week/month to work on each one?

Do I really care about my goal? Is this something I genuinely want to accomplish?

Good luck!

Article Writing Tips - Reliable Sources For Research

Most, if not all of the articles I write, I do so from my own knowledge or based on opinion, rather than fact. However, from time to time, you're going to write articles that are not only based on fact but also on topics that you know very little about and have to therefore research. This is where a lot of article writers run into problems. They don't know where to go for reliable information. For that matter, they don't really understand the reason why this is so important. In this article, I'm going to explain the why and how of getting information from reliable sources.

Let's start with the why first. Imagine you're writing an article on some health related issue. Maybe there is a new health scare and you need to get the facts on where it is occurring and who it is affecting. In the meantime, if this is something brand new, people are going to want to get the facts for themselves so they'll know if it's something that concerns them. Now imagine that you do your research and get your information from a source that isn't all that reliable and it turns out the facts that you're reporting are all wrong. Think you might have some angry readers on your hands, not to mention a few lawsuits besides? This is why it is CRITICAL to get your facts from a reliable source.

Okay, so what's a reliable source? Well, let's take the scenario above on the hypothetical health scare. Where would you rather go to get your information...a few blogs put up by John Doe, John Smith and Jane Doe or maybe go to a medical authority site like WebMD? Big difference between the two. For one thing, you don't know WHERE John Doe got his info from. Sure, he could have gotten it from WebMD himself, but there is really no way to know is there? By going to the most trusted sources, you give yourself the best chance of reporting facts that are accurate.

Having said that, you want to go to more than one source. I suggest a minimum of at least three sources and more if you can find them and verify that they are legit. A good reporter never relies on just one source for his information.

So, if you're going to write articles based on factual information, make sure you go to sources that are reliable and can be verified.

The last thing you want is a lawsuit on your hands.

Steven Wagenheim

Old Homes Can Have Problems With Stair Noise

Oh yes the common problem of squeaking stairs in an older house. This could become very frustrating and annoying as you walk up and down the stairs. There seems to be one or two stair treads that are always squeaking. That annoying sound as you walk as softly as you can on your way down to the kitchen in the middle of the night to grab a quick snack.

The number one cause of squeaking stairs is when the nails used to fasten the stair tread to the stair strainers has worked its way loose. Over time as the lumber shrinks in the stair treads and the stairs stringers. You will start to develop a separation or a gap between the stair tread and the stair strainer.

The stair stringer can shrink as much as 3/8 of an inch in just a few years. I was building a home and went to measure the stair stringer that was 11 1/2 inches wide originally. Then I measured it after two months outside in the summer sun it now measured 11 1/16". I was amazed that the lumber could shrink that much in such a short period of time.

As the stair stringer shrinks it starts to pull away from the plywood or hardwood stair tread. As it starts to separate from the stair tread the nail will stay in its original position until the stair tread starts to put pressure on the nail eventually lifting it up a little bit higher than its original position.

As you step on the stair tread the squeaking sound you hear is the nail rubbing against the stair tread. There are a few ways to fix a squeaking stair tread. If you have access to under the stairway you can apply some adhesive along with a 10 inch 2 x 4 under the stair tread and attach it to the stair stringer.

First apply adhesive to two sides of the 2 x 4. The adhesive will be used to glue the stair tread to the stair stringer. You can use screws to screw the new 2 x 4 onto the side of the stair stringer.

If you cannot access the underside of the stairs and you have carpeting you can actually locate the stair stringer and drive a 2 inch screw through the carpeting in to the stair stringer. This will pull the stair tread down and will not allow it to rub up against the nail making that awful sound of a squeaking stair case.

If you have a finished wood stair tread you will not be able to screw through it into the stair stringer without damaging the finish on tread itself. It will be easier to access the stair stringer from below somehow and apply the 2 x 4 with the adhesive to stop the stair squeak.

You can apply these methods to as many stair treads that are squeaking without taking apart the entire staircase and rebuilding it.

Fixing Your Leaking Toilet

Let me explain how a toilet works. First when you go to flush the toilet a little arm pulls a rubber flapper up and lets the water drain into the toilet bowl. The water draining into the toilet bowl forces the old water out along with the number two or number one waste and extremities.

If the toilet sounds like it is running there is a good chance that the seal between the rubber flapper and the plastic rain at the bottom of the toilet is broken somehow. The sound you are hearing is water running around this ring and in to the toilet bowl.

This leak is actually causing no damage to the toilet itself but is wasting water. Hence the water bill will be a little higher if you don't fix the leaking toilet. The best way to find out if this is actually your problem is to take the toilet tank lid off. Then stick your hand down into the toilet bowl and press gently on the rubber flap.

If the water stops leaking or starts running faster this is your problem. Turn the water off to the toilet. There will be a shut off valve on the wall under your toilet bowl in the bathroom. After you turn the water off removed the plastic flap and examine it.

You will be looking for a warped toilet flap or of some sort or grooves on the flapper itself. Take the toilet flapper down to your local home improvement store and buy a new one. Go home and replace the new toilet flapper and this should solve 90% of your leaking toilet problems.

There is one more thing it could be. With the toilet tank lid off, check to see if water is overflowing into the little round plastic pipe. This plastic pipe should have a small hose running from the float valve assembly into it.

If the water is over flowing from the toilet tank into this little plastic pipe you will need to adjust the float.

First thing you will need to do is while the toilet is running lift up on the float lever arm. If the water stops you can simply bend the metal arm of the float lever. The purpose of bending the arm will force the float deeper into the water there for stopping the water from rising over the small tube in the center of your toilet.

There are few parts to a toilet and most parts can be purchased at your local hardware or home improvement centers. Toilet repairs like this can be made simple and the parts used to replace are inexpensive.

Happy Toilet Repairing.
